The World Ablaze: an introduction to the Seven Years' War

Drawn from the Fort Ligonier permanent collection is a world-class exhibition telling the story of the decisive 18th century Seven Years' War, known as the French and Indian War in America.

George Washington and his early military career

The unique George Washington collection at Fort Ligonier features his original saddle pistols, his 11-page "Remarks" on the French and Indian War and a Rembrandt Peale portrait.

Follow the Trail

General John Forbes gave his name in 1758 to a challenging British military expedition and to a remarkable new road he opened. Follow the Forbes Trail through Pennsylvania history.

A TASTE OF HISTORY

5:30 – 7:30 PM – Enjoy a casual evening with friends at the Fort! Bake oven demonstrations and refreshments; entertainment by Joe Golden and Pat Petrarca. Reservations are appreciated. $7.00/members of the Fort Ligonier Association; $10.00 for non-members.

Westmoreland Symphony Concert

7:00 PM – A FREE concert by the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra on the grounds of historic Fort Ligonier. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, relax on the hillside, and enjoy this outstanding summer concert. Doors open at 6:00 PM.

Detachment of the 8th PA Regiment

Encampment, drills, and musket firing demonstrations throughout the weekend. Regular admission fees.
